A basic wolf/kardon template. Kardons are technically wolves, they're just a fantasy race that I've created. This template is paint friendly!

Whereas normal wolves generally stand about 2' high, Kardon stand about 3' to 3' 6" high at the shoulders. They are proportionate (meaning that they don't just have longer legs, they are actually longer and heavier than normal wolves as well). Kardon usually have manes or colored fur along the back of their neck and hackles. Kardon use sight as well as scent to identify one another and their markings are usually vibrant and extremely unique. Unlike many other animals on earth, Kardon come in any array of colors. Kardon may be adorned with jewelry or accessories. Kardon Immortals have been known to have long straight horns, though usually only members of the oldest families have these.

Male Kardon occasionally have 'back spurs.' A back spur is where the three lumbar vertebrae before the tail have elongated spinous processes that protrude from the back like spikes coming from the spine. Males do not usually being to grow back spines until they are at least fifty years old. The back spines can be colored. Kardon also have extremely long claws on their forepaws which are primarily used for digging, marking territory, or fighting. (note that in the comic this will not be shown unless for a special occasion or a close up view). The claws and pads of Kardon are usually uniquely or brightly colored and are rarely black.

Immortal Nobility:
These are the Kardon that live on the planet Asrai. They are called immortal not because they cannot be killed, but because they have extremely long lifespan. An average Kardon will live about 2000 years. Immortals have elemental powers.

Guardians:
Guardians are always born as twins. Once each generation, one Kardon of each of the nine guardian families will produce guardian twins. Guardians have elemental abilities but have a normal lifespan of about 100 years.

Halflings:
These Kardon often tend to be lighter or smaller than other Kardon, they have the ability to shapeshift into human form. Halflings are only found within the Citadel.

Kardon:
The most abundant type of canine on the planet earth, they have lifespans that range anywhere from 80 to 100 years. They have no magical abilities.
